At the end of a Rainbow...

Another site we didn't design (getting a lot of these nowadays). A pretty straight forward site with info and images, wrapped inside a nice design.

Portfolio entry 9: Rainbow Junction

Had to create a LOT of transparent PNGs for this site, the background is one big tiling image and had to make the site happen on top of it, which means most images had to be PNGs.

Looking for my pot of gold, please excuse me....

Classy Accomodation

Although we didn't design the site, it took quite a bit of work building it. The site has a lot of images and a couple forms with date pickers, etc. All in all it came out quite nice.

I had to code quite a bit of error checking into the forms, especially the forms with multiple dates. First you have to check if the date is in the future, you have to check if the 2nd date is after the first date, you have to check if the dates are valid (Feb doesn't have a 30th), etc, etc, etc.

Fire-up the grill

This site just went live last week and is, in my opinion, a very nice design. It's for The Godfather Restaurant in Centurion. I did the previous design as well, but that was at the last company I worked for, guess they didn't like the guys there after I left and came looking, just goes to show what good client service does...

The client wanted something stylish but not boring, the background pattern is actually a pattern on the walls in the restaurant. The previous site had a nice flame effect, which they liked and I had to top on the new site... which it seems the client feels I did cause they love the new fire effect. The website is pretty straight forward with a lot of photos to show off the areas and a booking form.

Planning ahead...

Also one of my earlier designs at ABC Live. This company does conference and event planning. To quote their home page...

"Carlamani Conferences and Events (Pty) Ltd is a conference and event management company that takes pride in service excellence and attention to detail. The company was established in 2006 and is owned by Carla de Jager who has more than 18 years experience in conference and events management."

I like the design, it's clean, yet functional, I used a template as a base and worked from there, the results speak for itself.

Scheduling my next update... or not.

Shaking things up a bit...

This is one of the first websites I designed when I started at ABC Live, they supply vibrating equipment for the mining industry.

Portfolio entry 5: Vibramech
http://www.vibramech.co.za/

It's a basic 1 page website with some info, a contact form and an image flip grid animation. Simple, functional and to the point, I like it.... :)

Hunting for Designs

I designed the Logo for this company and built the website, the website design isn't mine however. The company supplies hunting trips, but with a difference, you can hunt from a helicopter if you want.

It's a pretty straight forward site, but still looks good. The most impressive function of the website for me is the Quote Request form, you can pick the animals you would like to hunt and how many.

The best Offence is a good Defence... or something like that.

I designed and built this website for the Defence Symposium hosted every 2 years by ECM Technologies. The website contains all the information about the Symposium and the Venue it'll be held at, additionally you can request an invitation on the website.

The design came out pretty nice and the functionality for the administrator makes it a bit easier to organise the event. Keeping track of the attendees and even printing name cards directly from the database.

Another update, in the same week - The Game is afoot...

So I have more to say, or share for that matter... this was one of my first websites I designed and created when I started at my current job, was a nice one, got to play with a nice design idea. The end result, in my humble opinion, is quite good. Take a look...

Portfolio entry 2: A Mind A Game Productions

Besides having a cool design, the website is pretty standard, except it doesn't scroll, it pages like a book... something to do with the fact that the design is a book I imagine...

Comment, criticize or simply let me know what you think.
